Sunniemade Awarded $50,000 EmpowHer Grant from Boundless Futures Foundation
We’re excited to share that Sunniemade has been awarded a $50,000 EmpowHer Grant from Boundless Futures Foundation as part of their latest round of funding.
This year, the foundation awarded $180,000 in total to four female-founded businesses across the United States that are committed to both growth and social impact. We’re honored to be included in this group.
Boundless Futures Foundation is a private family foundation that supports women entrepreneurs who are building businesses with an embedded social impact. Through its EmpowHer program, the organization provides both funding and resources to help founders scale companies that are addressing real-world challenges through their products and business models.
Since launching Sunniemade in 2022, we’ve grown as a bootstrapped business—reinvesting revenue back into the company and taking a disciplined, step-by-step approach to building the brand. That approach has allowed us to establish strong product-market fit and build a loyal customer base, but like many small businesses, it has also meant prioritizing carefully and moving at a measured pace.
This grant gives us the opportunity to accelerate several areas of the business that have been core priorities from the beginning.
How We’re Using the Funding
We’ll be investing the grant across three primary areas:
Product Development
We’re expanding our investment in research and development, with a focus on growing our hair care line and exploring new product formulas that align with our plant-powered, plastic-free approach.
Customer Growth
We’ll be increasing our investment in customer acquisition and brand awareness to reach more people looking for effective alternatives to conventional personal care products.
Retail Expansion
We’re continuing to grow our wholesale and retail presence, with the goal of making Sunniemade more accessible through additional store partnerships.
Why This Matters
For us, growth has always been directly tied to impact.
Every product we make is designed to replace single-use plastic in everyday routines—whether that’s shampoo and conditioner bars in place of bottles, bar soap instead of body wash, or lip balm in compostable packaging.
Scaling the business means increasing that impact.
This grant allows us to invest more meaningfully in the areas that drive both growth and environmental progress, while staying true to the values the brand was built on.
We’re grateful to Boundless Futures Foundation for the support, and to be part of a group of founders who are building businesses with a shared focus on both growth and good.
